My Fountain and Flowers Pictures is Featured on Webshots Today!

my picture featured in the home and garden section of Webshots.comSo this morning I wake up and check my email to see what server and or system wants attention. Then I see  a pile of comments from my Webshots page. I think, oh great, I’m gettin spammed.  To my very pleasant surprise, they are all real and they are all congratulating me on my picture being featured in the home and garden section of Webshots.com.  Wait, what happened?  Sure enough, there it is. The big pic.

Of the 360 pictures featured today, mine is first. All the pictures featured todayHow cool is that? There are a ton of great pics on that page that are better than mine. Nevertheless, I’ll take it. 🙂

A little background about the photo

I took this with a camera that a good friend of mine, Rob McAllister, recommended: the Sony Mavica MVC-CD400 which burns pictures directly onto CDs you insert into the body of the camera. It was taken at Straud’s restaurant in Liberty, MO while we were waiting to eat some of their awesome fried chicken.  I took several other photos that day; this Church and Plow photo was taken just down the hill; the fountain is to the right and up the hill. The funny thing is that I was STUPIDLY not taking pictures at the camera’s highest possible resolution because I didn’t want to run out of space on the CD.  What a fool I was (and still am).

We have this picture hanging in our house in a frame on our wall of friends and family pics. The pic was originally a placeholder until we got more friends and then subsequently took photos of said new friends. My uncle came for a visit and said he wanted a copy of it blown up. So that’s what we did and now my Uncle Doug has a 24″x18″ print hanging in his kitchen in St. Louis. It looks pretty good.

I guess now all I have to do is wait for the royalty checks to start rolling in.   Hold on. Ok, um, now I’m being told there is no pay associated with this placement. That stinks. I just bought a new flatscreen TV on CircuitCity.com. Remove from cart!!
